Artists Level & Class Breakdown 

Our schedule is color coordinated to assist you in finding the appropriate class for your child. Here is a breakdown of what each of those levels encompass. For frequently asked questions and dress code, click accordingly.

*The breakdown of classes by age and/or grades is to be used as a guide only. Please understand that your student may be placed in a different class/level due to physical, mental, emotional maturities and capabilities.

Dance Dress Code

Louisville Academy of Fine Arts

Louisville Academy of Fine Arts dance students are required to adhere to class dress codes. Below are the requirements according to class and level placement. 

​

All ballet students Ballet 4 and above are required to wear pink tights and pink ballet shoes (for female identifying students), or a white shirt, black pants, and black ballet shoes (for male identifying students). Leotard color will be according to level placement any other differences will be specified below. 

Creative Movement (ages 3-4)
Ballet Pink Leotard with skirt
White socks
Ballet Pink or flesh colored ballet shoes 
Hair in ponytail or up and out of face

Pre-Ballet (ages 4-5)
Light blue Leotard with skirt
white socks

Ballet Pink or flesh colored ballet shoes

Ballet 1 - Ballet 3 (ages 5-8)
White Leotard, no skirt attached
hair in ponytail or up and out of face

Ballet 4-Ballet 7 (ages 8-13)
Black Leotard, no skirt attached
hair pulled up in a ballet bun
